Reducing our Carbon Footprint: One Pallet or Package at a Time
Investing in Sustainable Infrastructure
At MCP Group, we’ve made significant investments in Green Energy infrastructure to minimise our environmental impact while supporting national energy solutions.
Our onsite Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant is one of the cornerstones of our Sustainability strategy. This innovative facility heats our production facilities and powers our ten on-site kilns, ensuring efficient and eco-friendly operations. In addition, the plant generates 1.3 megawatts of Green Electricity that is fed directly to the national grid. This is equivalent to powering up to 1,300 homes -demonstrating MCP Group as a leader in sustainable manufacturing and operations.
Solar Power Installations
We’ve taken full advantage of our available resources by installing cutting-edge solar energy systems at our facilities as part of MCP Group’s drive to reduce carbon emissions and embrace renewable energy.
At our Clondrohid site, we have established a 598KWp solar generation facility comprising more than 2,000 solar panels spread across nearly 4,000 square metres of otherwise unused rooftop space. Similarly, at our Dunboyne site, an additional 100KWp solar installation has been put in place to strengthen our renewable energy capabilities further. Together, these investments in solar infrastructure are helping MCP Group reduce our Co2 emissions by 265 tonnes annually—a significant step towards achieving a greener future.
By maximising the potential of solar energy, we’re transforming underutilised spaces into sustainable energy hubs that benefit our operations and the environment at large. At MCP Group, we’re proud to lead by example in adopting clean energy solutions that drive meaningful change.
Intelligent & Responsive LED Lighting Systems
At MCP Group, we believe that every step towards Sustainability matters—that’s why we’ve invested in intelligent and responsive LED lighting systems across our operations. These advanced systems are designed to monitor and adjust our on-site energy usage in real-time, ensuring we only use what’s needed when needed. This proactive approach significantly reduces energy wastage and contributes to our broader energy optimisation strategy. By integrating these cutting-edge technologies, we’re not just meeting today’s energy efficiency standards but actively driving innovation to build a more sustainable future for our business and yours.
